Approximately 2000 years ago there lived, in the dwarven community of Dormun Deep a dwarven stonemaster named Gwainor. Never in the history of dwarven king had there been a better stone-crafter than Gwainor. It is said that he carved his first great work before his beard reached his chest. He carved statues of great wonder, magical creations that were envy of all. He built the renowned Fortoni statues, which are still in the possession of the dwarves of Dormun Deep. Indeed it was he who carved out the caverns of the king of Dormun Deep. However Gwainor's Greatest works were the caverns of Tagonir. For almost 100 years he worked on these caverns, digging even deeper. However, unknown to him, a great evil hung over the place. Finally one day Gwainor dug too deep and released the spirit of a powerful demon which had been imprisoned in the bedrock (a typical prison for a demon). Within a day Gwainor and the caverns of Tagonir were destroyed. |
