Gwyneth Paltrow is an American actress, businesswoman, and author, known for her work in both film and television. Born on September 27, 1972, in Los Angeles, California, she is the daughter of actress Blythe Danner and film producer-director Bruce Paltrow.
Paltrow's acting career began in the early 1990s, and she gained early notice for her work in films like "Seven" (1995) and "Emma" (1996). However, her rise to international fame came with her performance in "Shakespeare in Love" (1998), for which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress.
Her other notable films include "The Royal Tenenbaums" (2001), "Shallow Hal" (2001), and the "Iron Man" series (2008-2019), where she played Pepper Potts. Beyond acting, Paltrow has also ventured into singing and writing. She authored several cookbooks and has been involved in the fashion industry.
In addition to her acting career, Paltrow is also known for her business ventures. She founded Goop, a wellness and lifestyle brand, in 2008. The company started as a weekly lifestyle newsletter and has since expanded into a web-based company offering lifestyle advice, products, and wellness summits.
Paltrow has been the subject of media attention for her personal life as well. She was married to Chris Martin, the lead vocalist of Coldplay, from 2003 to 2016, with whom she has two children. Their "conscious uncoupling" announcement in 2014 drew significant media coverage.
Throughout her career, Paltrow has been known for her commitment to health and wellness, which is a central theme of her business endeavors. She has been a controversial figure at times, with some of her health advice and product endorsements drawing criticism from medical professionals.
