### Kathryn Morgan Bio
Kathryn Morgan is an acclaimed American ballet dancer and YouTuber. Born on August 17, 1988, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, she began her ballet training at Mobile Ballet in Alabama at the age of five. Her early dedication to ballet led her to the School of American Ballet's summer intensive, and she subsequently joined their year-round program.
Morgan's professional career took off when she joined the New York City Ballet (NYCB) as an apprentice at the age of 17. She quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a soloist at the age of 21. During her time at NYCB, she performed significant roles such as Juliet in "Romeo and Juliet," Aurora in "The Sleeping Beauty," and the Sugarplum Fairy in "The Nutcracker."
However, her career faced a major setback when she was diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis, an autoimmune disease that led to significant health challenges and weight gain. This ultimately caused her to leave NYCB in 2012 to focus on her health.
Morgan made a remarkable return to the stage, joining the Miami City Ballet as a soloist in 2019. Despite the initial excitement, she faced new challenges at Miami City Ballet, leading to her departure at the end of the 2019-2020 season for mental and physical health reasons.
Beyond her ballet career, Morgan has become a prominent social media figure, using platforms like YouTube to share her journey, offer ballet tutorials, and provide insights into the dance world. She also serves as a judge for Youth America Grand Prix and teaches ballet.
Morgan has received several awards throughout her career, including the Mae L. Wien Award and the Movado Future Legends Award. She continues to inspire many with her resilience and dedication to ballet.
