Katie Mackey, born Katherine Follett on November 12, 1987, is an accomplished American middle-distance runner. She has notable achievements in various national and international competitions. In 2018, Mackey won the US national cross country title over 6 km and placed 8th in the 3000 meters at the IAAF World Indoor Championships. Her career includes winning the U.S. road mile championship in 2017 and a silver medal in the 4x1500 m relay at the 2014 IAAF World Relays. During her college years at the University of Washington, Mackey earned the status of an eight-time All-American. Her personal life includes marrying Danny Mackey in 2011, who later became her coach, and having a son named Joshua in September 2021
