About the cover model Thalia:
Ariadna Thalía Sodi Miranda, known mononymously as Thalía, is a renowned Mexican singer, actress, and businesswoman, born on August 26, 1971, in Mexico City. She is celebrated as the "Queen of Latin Pop" and is regarded as one of the most successful and influential Mexican artists globally. Thalía has sold around 50 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling Latin music artists of all time. She is multilingual, having performed in Spanish, English, French, Portuguese, and Tagalog.
Thalía's early life was marked by tragedy and triumph. She was the youngest of five daughters to Yolanda Miranda Mange, a painter and her manager, and Ernesto Sodi Pallares, a scientist, doctor of pathology, criminologist, and writer. Her first TV appearance was at the age of one, and she began taking ballet and piano classes at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música in Mexico at four. Her father died when she was six, an event that deeply affected her, leading to a temporary loss of her voice.
Her music career began in 1981 as a vocalist in the children's group Pac Man, later known as Din-Din. Thalía gained prominence in the entertainment industry through her participation in the children's music group Timbiriche and her roles in successful telenovelas. Her acting in telenovelas like "María Mercedes," "Marimar," and "María la del Barrio" earned her the title "Queen of Telenovelas," and these shows were instrumental in popularizing her music internationally.
Thalía has received numerous accolades, including five Billboard Latin Music Awards and eight Lo Nuestro Awards. She has been nominated for seven Latin Grammy Awards and received the special "President's Merit Award" in 2019. Thalía's collaborations include works with artists like Tony Bennett, Michael Bublé, Robbie Williams, and Marc Anthony.
As a businesswoman, Thalía has enjoyed success with a fashion brand, a nationally syndicated radio show, and as the author of four books. She is also a UNICEF Mexico Ambassador since 2016. Thalía married Tommy Mottola in 2000, and the couple has two children.
Throughout her career, Thalía has been a significant figure in Latin pop and a cultural icon, earning a place on Billboard's Greatest Latin Artists of All Time in 2020 and People En Español's The 100 most iconic Hispanic entertainers of all time in 2008. She was also honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2013
