She is celebrated as the "Queen of Latin Pop" and is regarded as one of the most successful and influential Mexican artists globally. Thalía has sold around 50 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling Latin music artists of all time. She is multilingual, having performed in Spanish, English, French, Portuguese, and Tagalog.

She was the youngest of five daughters to Yolanda Miranda Mange, a painter and her manager, and Ernesto Sodi Pallares, a scientist, doctor of pathology, criminologist, and writer.
